This Privacy Policy explains how NetTop, a macOS menu bar network monitor developed by Metromedya, handles your information. The short version: NetTop runs entirely on your Mac and does not collect any of your data. By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

None. NetTop does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics or tracking inside the app.

2. How Your Network Data Is Handled

All the network statistics NetTop shows are read from your Mac in real time, displayed to you, and never leave your device:

• Live speed: Your real-time upload and download speed in the menu bar

• Per-app bandwidth: Which processes are using your connection, with their live speeds

• Connection details: Your IP address, Wi-Fi, and latency

• Speed tests: On-demand and scheduled test results, including their history

3. Speed Tests

When you run a speed test, NetTop measures your connection by transferring data to and from public measurement endpoints. This is required to calculate your download speed, upload speed, and ping. The test results themselves are stored only on your device and are not sent to us.

4. Local Storage

NetTop stores your preferences (such as menu bar style, units, update interval, and speed test schedule) and your speed test history locally on your Mac. You can clear this history at any time from within the app, and removing the app removes its stored data.

5. Permissions

NetTop uses standard macOS networking access to read live network activity on your device. It runs inside the macOS App Sandbox, which limits its access to system resources.

6. Third-Party Services

NetTop does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. It is distributed through the Mac App Store, and Apple's privacy practices apply to App Store transactions and updates (see Apple Privacy Policy).

7. Children's Privacy

NetTop is a general audience app suitable for all ages. It does not require account creation or any personal information to function, and it does not knowingly collect data from anyone.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will always be available at metromedya.com/apps/nettop/privacy. Continued use of NetTop after changes take effect means you agree to the updated policy.
